Left Bali at 3:00 AM 9/23. Arrived Rass Island (07′07.08S 114′30.35E)3:20 PM same day. Departed Rass Island at 9:15 AM on 9/24. Arrived at Bawean Island at 8:30 AM on 9/25 after an overnight passage. (05′45.64S 112′35.93E)
We will depart on 9/26 at approximately 6:00 AM for the Kumai River on Kalimantan, still part of Indonesia, Southwest Borneo. The passage is 195 miles and we anticipate arriving on the 27th in mid afternoon. The Kumai River area is a Urang Utan Conservation area. (true) Orangutans are released back into the wild here (true) after a movie career with Clint Eastwood. (not true) We understand there is a three day tour into the jungle (true)to get their autograph, (not true) complete with a boat boy to keep other monkeys off your boat.
